A portable electronic device designed for use by minimally trained responders to treat victims of sudden cardiac arrest. The device automatically analyzes the electrical activity of the heart to determine whether defibrillation (shock) is required. If a shockable rhythm is detected, it automatically delivers shocks through adhesive defibrillation electrodes on the victim’s chest. These electrodes serve both to monitor the ECG and to deliver the defibrillator discharges. Powered by a non-rechargeable battery, intended for use in public access environments.
