A skimmer is a technical device used to remove hazardous substances from the water surface. These can be for example oils, petroleum substances or chemicals. It is designed to adapt to the water surface and move easily through it. The skimmer needs to be connected to a firefighting vacuum cleaner, we recommend the RÖSSLE HYDRA vacuum cleaner which provides sufficient suction. Use is quick and easy thanks to the C-coupling and hoses.
The skimmer floats on the water surface thanks to a float containing a suction chamber. Surface water and floating materials are sucked out by a suction hose connected to the skimmer. Thanks to the telescopic pole, the skimmer can be easily operated from the water surface. If required, up to two skimmers can be operated with one HYDRA vacuum cleaner, either in parallel or separately. These devices are ideal for interventions with contaminated materials and help to minimise their impact on the environment.
